Marrawah Law

Leah Cameron is a Trawlwoolway (Palawa) woman from Tasmania, principal solicitor and founder of Marrawah Law.

The firm and Leah regularly feature in the legal profession’s benchmark rankings, Doyle’s Guide and Chambers. Recently, Leah was recognised as one of the Top 20 Under 40 business entrepreneurs in Australia, Indigenous Legal Practitioner of the Year in Queensland and nationally and won honours at Connect 2021’s Supplier Diversity Awards, including Certified Indigenous Business of the Year and Businesswoman of the Year. She was also appointed as one of the independent experts on the esteemed Australian Heritage Council.

Since founding Marrawah Law in 2013, Leah’s philosophy of doing law differently has driven the firm’s growth into one of the largest Indigenous-owned and operated law firms in Australia.

While her practitioner skills were initially developed in property law, native title, and cultural heritage matters, her passion has expanded to providing mainstream commercial law services for government, corporate, and Indigenous businesses across the country.

Leah provides strategic and technical guidance and advice to ensure that clients' projects, transactions, and processes are managed effectively. She remains a passionate advocate for the growth of the Indigenous business sector, women in business, and a more collaborative approach to commercial legal practice that establishes win-win outcomes for all stakeholders.
