Shane Dexter

Shane Dexter is the Branch Manager – Business and Economic Policy at the National Indigenous Australians Agency. Shane was raised on Yolngu Country in Northeast Arnhemland, and has over 15 years experience in the public service across the Northern Territory and Australian Governments.

Shane has worked in various roles in the Northern Territory, South Australia and the ACT, and has led the design and delivery of major and complex projects and reforms in a range of different contexts. In his current role, his branch has responsibility for a range of programs and initiatives including the Commonwealth Indigenous Procurement Policy, the Indigenous Business Hubs program, a range of First Nations tourism programs, and the Youpla Support Program. His team also provides support and advice to agencies across the Commonwealth to progress First Nations economic empowerment.
