Local Buying Foundation

The Local Buying Foundation (LBF) provides funding to support economic and local, regional business programs which build business capability and capacity across the communities where BHP operates in NSW, QLD, SA and WA Pilbara.

The LBF is a critical element of BHP’s Local Buying Program. Run in partnership between C-Res and BHP, the Foundation and Program provide opportunities to small, local and Indigenous businesses.

The LBF has developed a National Indigenous Business Support Program, ‘Trading Tracks’ that was launched in QLD in 2021, currently being delivered by Marabisda Inc, and launched in WA in 2023 being delivered by Indigenous Management Group. Through this program it aims to provide a range of direct, referral and facilitated support measures to Indigenous businesses at all stages of business development, tailored to the specific needs of the regions.
