Daniel Joinbee

Daniel Joinbee is the CEO of Gunggandji Aerospace, Australia’s only Aboriginal Aerospace consultancy.

Daniel’s diverse background includes an Executive MBA from the University of Melbourne's Business School, a BSc in Geography and Information Systems, and multiple diplomas. Daniel’s practical experience includes roles as an Air Traffic Controller with the Royal Australian Air Force and an ADF Combat Search and Rescue Officer.

Over the span of his career, Daniel and Gunggandji Aerospace have received numerous accolades. In 2019, he was honoured with the Australia Day Medallion for fostering First Nations community ties with HMAS Albatross. In 2023, he was awarded the Indigenous Space Leader of the Year for his contributions to Australia’s space capabilities and received an academic commendation from Melbourne Business School. Gunggandji Aerospace was also awarded Indigenous Space Business of the Year in 2024.

Daniel’s leadership experience includes roles as Director at Gunggandji Project Management and Fortified Management, where he grew startups into profitable ventures. As Program Director at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, he managed global projects, and at Manteena Security, he combined military precision with commercial acumen. Daniel’s unique blend of military discipline, entrepreneurial dynamism, and commitment defines his role as CEO of Gunggandji Aerospace.
